Toy company Flair has been speaking to the trade press about how it plans to promote the World Of Warriors toy range to consumers from autumn onwards.
Fans of the property can expect to see plenty of TV adverts promoting the toys right up to Christmas. Over 1000 TVRs are expected, focussing on all products in the range including collectables, action figures and role-play items.
As you would expect from a brand that began life in the online world, plenty of digital marketing tools will be deployed to help raise awareness of the toys and their launch dates. As well as an immersive microsite, email campaigns and social media activity, Flair plans to get in on the current craze for “unboxing videos”. Expect to see plenty of these being posted to YouTube, Vimeo and other viral video sites.
Meanwhile, samples will find their way into fans’ hands thanks to a tie-in with a major magazine aimed at the target age-group. This will be complemented by a nationwide ‘election’ to find out what fans consider to be the ultimate warrior!
Finally, various in-store activities are planned at dozens of the country’s favourite toy retailers. These are expected to include costume visits, “battle days”, in-store diorama displays and eye-catching point-of-sale units.

A draft cover for a forthcoming World Of Warriors book by popular children’s author Curtis Jobling has been leaked online.
We originally understood that the first book is to be entitled “World Of Warriors – A New Hero”. The book is aimed squarely at the 9-12 year old market and sees Trick assemble the most fearsome group of warriors in an attempt to defeat Boneshaker. If Trick fails, he may never been able to return home from the Wildlands.
Since then however, an image showing a draft front cover for a book called “World Of Warriors – The Seventh Warrior” has appeared. Whether this is simply a change of title or another book in what is tipped to be a complete series of novels, is yet to be confirmed.

Although we had a sneaky peek at the toys at London’s Toy Fair earlier this year, those were just prototypes whereas these are the real thing!
Featuring Aztec – our favourite World Of Warriors character – the advert confirms that the toy range from Flair will feature collectables, action figures and role play sets. The advert also says that the autumn launch will be complemented by a massive TV campaign.

News of World of Warriors toys has been rather sparse of late, although today we’re excited to announce that Topps – the world’s leading collectables supplier – will be launching trading cards based on the award winning app.
Set to be distributed by Click Distribution here in the UK, Topps has already proved themselves the perfect trading card partner following the runaway success of their Moshi Monsters cards which they also developed in conjunction with Mind Candy.
This new trading card game aims to bring the fearsome World Of Warriors adventure to life. There will be over 260 cards to collect, including epic gold hero warrior cards and holographic foil cards.
In other news, the brand’s multi-layered publishing strategy is set to go-ahead with Penguin launching an Official Guide and Sticker book in June 2015.
